OtjiruzeJagd Guest Farm is in Namibia. Otjiruze is the native word meaning place of good living.
Sohadra lodge is 20° 39.714’S 17° 7.921’E. The hunting areas range from flat, open thornveld savannah, open grassland and rocky hills to riverine bush and mopane woodland.

Privately owned

Hunting is mainly done from March to October which tends to be cool and dry. Daytime temperatures are warm to hot, whereas at night it can get cold and a warm jacket would be needed at night. However, during the day temperatures can reach 30°C. The summer rains start in January till end of March. The land was previously used for cattle farming but has historically always had naturally occurring plains game.They still have some livestock. There are no inhabitants on the land used.

Sohrada is in the Small Waterberg region, 12 000 hectares and 260 km from Windhoek. Two hours drive from there are the camps Otjiruze and Schenckswater, each 6000 hectares. They also have sole hunting rights in the Swakopal Conservancy. There is no malaria in the hunting areas.

Leopard, klipspringer, nyala and red lechwe are available on a limited quota. All trophies taken are excellent quality and the Rogl brothers ensure that the whole hunting experience a memorable one. Both rifle and bow hunting is catered for. Culling of surplus gemsbok is done, and sometimes if the quota is not used, end of season discounts are offered.

All the hunting lodges offer a lounge, bar and dining room that are separate from the accommodation. All the buildings and chalets are brick with tin or thatched roofs. All have en suite bathrooms, flush toilets, hot and cold water, constant electricity and are fully air-conditioned. If there is a power failure they have a back-up generator. There is also a swimming pool, a boma, satellite TV, landline telephone as well as mobile phone and free Wi-Fi coverage. A maximum of 10 hunters can be accommodated at any one time.

The distances to the closest tar road vary from 7 to 60 km. No lights can be seen and no vehicles can be heard. The nearest international airport is Windhoek, two hours away by vehicle. However, the closest airfield is on the Otjiruze property, a VFR dirt 1200 metre runway at 20° 37.520’S 17° 11.528’E There is a hospital in Windhoek, Okahandja and in Otjiwarongo.
All meals are inclusive of the price and all dinners are four-course. Light breakfast followed by a big brunch is served, and the animals shot provide the meat. All soft drinks, beer and wine are included in the daily rate.
Seven full-time trackers are employed who have been working for the Rogl family for between 2 to 30 years. They also have skinners and a full complement of lodge staff.

All clients are met at the airport on arrival and dropped off on departure at the clients cost, but field preparation of trophies is included in the daily rate. The current daily rate for a one-on-one hunt is ‚¬290 per day, and a two-on-one hunt is ‚¬240per day. Numerous package deals are also on offer.

Trophies are skinned, salted and stored in separate sheds made of brick, very secure and 100% vermin proof. These facilities are well ventilated and have electric lighting. The trophies once dried are stored separately and tags are used for identification. There is also an abattoir with cold room.All the skinners are NAPHA trained and have 2 to 30 years experience.
