Mananga Safaris is in the Limpopo province of South Africa near the border of Zimbabwe. Mananga is the local native word meaning trophy horns.

The main hunting camp, Dover is 22° 25.090’S 30° 7.762’E.

In South Africa, the hunting areas range from flat open thorn veld savannah, baobab trees, rocky hills, mapane woodland and riverine bush.

All the areas hunted on are privately owned.

Hunting is mainly done from March to October which tends to be cool and dry. Day time temperatures will vary. Generally speaking a warm jacket would be needed at night however during the day temperatures can reach 26°C. The summer rains start in late October & end early February.

The South African areas were previously cattle ranches however wild game has always occurred there naturally. There are no inhabitants on the land used.

Mananga owns 30 000 hectares with a further 50 000 hectares of private concessions. All the properties have a perimeter game fence and cater for bow and rifle hunting. Both areas are in a low risk malaria zone.

Many different trophy species are available, ranging from the “Big Five” to Sharps Grysbok, and there will be a limited quota. End-of-season discount hunts are also offered and the minimum hunt is seven days, and excess females are culled. No game capture takes place here and new stock is introduced to strengthen the gene pool. Sable and Roan are also on offer.
