Based in South Africa in the Limpopo Province, with hunting also in Namibia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Elite African Safaris operates out of Thaba Nkwe Lodge, 24° 19.469’S 28° 52.783’E.
The hunting areas range from flat, open thornveld savannah, open grassland, rocky hills, to mopane and miambo wood land and riverine bush.
The areas in South Africa and Namibia are privately owned, but the areas in Zimbabwe and Mozambique are all state-owned conservancy areas.
Hunting is mainly from March to October which tends to be cool and dry. Daytime temperatures are warm to hot, whereas at night it can get cold and a warm jacket would be needed. However, during the day temperatures can reach 30°C. The summer rains start in January till end of March.

The main hunting lodge is on 1000 hectares. The property has a perimeter game fence and caters for bow and rifle hunting.Depending on what animals are wanted, clients take a regional flight to the country. If hunting outside of South Africa, other outfitters are used. There is no malaria in the South African or Namibian areas. However, if hunting in Zimbabwe or Mozambique, anti-malaria prophylactics should be taken.

The Big Five and dangerous game are offered on package deals. The minimum hunt offered is seven days and end-of-season discount hunts are offered if quotas are not filled. The minimum hunt duration is seven days.

Thaba Nkwe Lodge is purpose built and the lounge, bar and dining room are separate from the accommodation. All the buildings and chalets are brick with thatched roofs. All have en suite bathrooms, flush toilets, hot and cold water, constant electricity and are fully air-conditioned. If there is a power failure they have a back-up generator. There is also a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, a boma, satellite TV, landline telephone and mobile phone coverage.A maximum of six hunters can be accommodated at any one time.
The distance to the closest tar road is 2km. No lights can be seen and no vehicles can be heard. The nearest international airport is OR Tambo, two-and-a-half hours away by vehicle. However, the closest airfield is Mokopane, which is a VFR, tarmac 1800 metre all-weather runway approved by the Civil Aviation Authority. There is a hospital in Mokopane, a 10-minute drive away.
All meals are inclusive of the price and all dinners are four course. Light breakfast followed by a big brunch is served, and typically the animals shot provide the meat. All drinks and alcohol are included in the daily rate.
One full-time tracker is employed who has been working for Ben for seven years. They also have skinners and a full complement of lodge staff.
All clients are met at the airport on arrival and dropped off on departure by one of the professional hunters. This service, plus field preparation of trophies, is included in the daily rate. The current daily rate in South Africa for a one-on-one hunt is US$400 per day, and two-on-one is US$350 per day. Dangerous game rates are US$450 and US$400 respectively.

Trophies are skinned, salted and stored in separate sheds made of brick, very secure and 100% vermin proof. These facilities are well ventilated and have electric lighting. The trophies once dried are stored separately and tags are used for identification. There is also an abattoir with cold room.The skinner has at least four years experience. Savuti Taxidermy is recommended. However, trophies can be shipped to the clients own taxidermist of choice.
